12/31 Fields Dynamite! - The Champions will Fight

Saturday, 26 December 2009

FEG and WVR have announced 2 additional fights for the NYE Dynamite! event. Everyone was hoping for a DREAM title fight between Aoki and Kawajiri, but that will not happen. Instead Dream champion Shinya Aoki will take on Sengoku champion Mizuto Hirota in a fight that should be very interesting. No doubt Hirota will need to keep this off the ground, while Aoki will be desperate to get it there.

The other fight added could end up being a very good fight. Dream title challenger Tatsuya Kawajiri will take on Sengoku title challenger Kazunori Yokota. Yokota has had a very good 2009 and will be looking to end on a high. Kawajiri will be looking to cement himself as the #1 challenger for Aoki's title when 2010 starts.

A lot on the line in both these fights. There will be 2 more K-1 fights added to the card.

***UPDATE***
Melvin Manhoef vs. Kazuo Misaki has been added to the card during Christmas. Should be a good fight, everyone knows what Manhoef is planning. I am interested in seeing what Misaki is planning to counter though.

Alot of great evenly matched fights this year I just can't wait. I still have my hopes they will add 1 or 2 more MMA fights though? Becasue there is alot of fighters not fighting under bolth rosters I would love to matched up especially at LW. There they could make great fights with fighters not fighting like joachim hansen, GZ, Ishida, Kitaoka, Eiji Mitsuoka,Shaolin, etc. I was also really Hoping Overeem would fight eather Tim Sylvia or Arlovski. The Fujita fight is a joke and will be over ins seconds. Fujita does not have the chin or heart for fighting he ounce had sorry to say. Also Gary Goodridge is such a waste of a oppent for Gegard Mousasi. Buy the way my names Eric not Gloria posting under my mothers name

Hi Eric,

I agree that there are a lot of LWs missing on this card. But I think there might only be 1-2 K-1 fights added... The card is very low on K-1 so I would be surprised if more MMA was added.

You never know though, I really hope some of the LWs you are mentioning will be added.

To me it looks like some of the StrikeForce names might have been given "easier" opponents, It will still be an awesome event!

The last I heard but I don't know about this now was Tim Sylvia was still saying there was a good chance he would be fighting Hong Man Choi at Dynamite but that was over a weak or so ago ? So my fingers are crossed for that fight still to be made. I am very surprised Hatsu Hioki did not make the card eather. All in all its a hell of a Dynamite this year with great evenly matched fights that could go eather way. If the rumors are true and sengoku does merge for good with Dream or FEG buys them up we will get to see some amazing fights not only at Dynamite but at every event Dream does from now on.
