11/7 Sengoku 11 - Participants and Rumors

Saturday 12 September 2009

Sengoku made some additional announcements about future events yesterday, in addition to that there are some very interesting rumors going around.

To take what is confirmed first:
Sengoku 11 will take place on November 11 in Ryogoku Kokugikan, that is normally the venue for the Sumo tournaments in Tokyo and is a very good arena.

3 fighters are confirmed: Kevin Randleman, Michihiro Omigawa and middleweight champion Jorge Santiago.

Jorge Santiago was meant to be facing the winner of Kazuo Misaki and Kazuhiro Nakamura, but with Misaki's legal problems that option was discarded. It remains to see who the opponent will be.

For the rumors:
-Josh Barnett is expected to participate in the Sengoku 11 event. There has been rumors of it being a heayweight title fight.
-There are rumors that Kevin Randleman's opponent will be King Mo.
-Satoru Kitaoka, Akihiro Gono and Eiji Mitsuoka are possible participants for Sengoku 11.

Cofirmed Participants:
Kevin Randleman 17-13-0
Michihiro Omigawa 7-8-1
Jorge Santiago 21-7-0

For the NYE event it will be held in Ariake Colosseum, Sengoku have not yet deceided on a date, it will either be 12/31 (head to head with Dynamite!) or 1/3. Satoshi Ishii has confirmed to Sportsnavi that he will make his debut at this event.

The participants I have listed are for Sengoku 11, in November.

The only participant sort of confirmed is Satoshi Ishii, and I dont know what FEG will do to compete with that... I have a feeling Hiroshi Izumi will be on the Sengoku NYE card as well.

It will be interesting to see if they try to take on Dynamite!
