8/8 Pancrase Changing Tour - 2009 Neo-Blood Tournament Finals

Monday 8 June 2009

Yesterday was a huge day and event for Pancrase, the focus was on the main card but there were some stars in the making on the undercard. The crowd in Differ Ariake was treated to no less than 23 fights yesterday, some of them were the Neo-Blood semi-finals.

For the next Pancrase event, the Neo-Blood finalists will be the center of attention, and I really like these events they have an atmosphere that is unique and the fighters always give it everything.

Look out for Shigeyuki Uchiyama in the featherweight final, at the age of 36 the former wrestler is looking in great shape. His opponent is the 12 year younger Yo Saito. Also keep an eye on the 20 year old Isao Kobayashi, he could be a fighter for the future coming from Sakaguchi Dojo.

In addition to the Neo-Blood finals, some participants are announced and they are a few of the most experienced fighters in Japan. Yuki Kondo and Izuru Takeuchi are participating, so is the lightweight King of Pancrase, Katsuya Inoue.

The finals were deceided yesterday, and this is what the setup looks like:
Light: Isao Kobayashi 3-0-0 vs. 1-5-0 Hirotaka Tomiyama
Feather: Shigeyuki Uchiyama 6-0-0 vs. 1-0-0 Yo Saito
Bantam: Nobuhiro Yoshitake 2-4-1 vs. 3-2-1 Ryota Sasaki
Fly: Kiyotaka Shimizu 2-1-1 vs. 7-6-1 Yuki Yashima
