3/15 DREAM - Mirko has opponent, DREAM has rules

Tuesday, 11 March 2008

Mirko's opponent for his return to Japan is Tatsuya Mizuno. Mizuno is a Pancrase fighter in a very thin Pancrase Heavyweight division. The best fighter he has fought to date is Assuerio Silva, he lost by TKO in round 2. None of his fights to date has gone the distance, and I am willing to bet that this one won't go the distance either.

Also, DREAM has announced that they will have 10 minutes first round, followed by 5 min. second round.
-No kicking a downed opponent, which means, soccer-kicks are not allowed.
-In case of No Contest, the fighter who can continue will go through to the next round, if neither fighter is able to contine the promoter will chose a fighter to go through.

-In case of injury, the fighter who can continue will go through to the next round, if neither fighter is able to contine the promoter will chose a fighter to go through.

interesting to see Eddie Alvarez here. He looked good at the last ShoXC.

I am very excited to see him too. He has a good record and it will be interesting to see how he does in Japan.

The best fights are:

Dida vs Eddie
Aoky vs JZ. Calvan
Ishida vs Bung (Big Upset)

hhaha...no way Ishida will go down.

Its too bad they matched up Aoki/JZ so early...that would seem like a good match up for the finals frankly.

And BTW, Aoki is a pretty big dude for the LW tournament (seems as big as crocop during the press conference) and JZ is a pretty short, albeit strong guy.

Aoki by gogo!

There are lots of good fights on this card. I think people are underestimating Boku and Miyata. I dont think they will win, but they are not easy opponents.

Aoki is tall. Met him on a couple of occations, a very nice guy outside the ring. The JZ vs. Aoki fight is hard to call.

You dont hearing comments about that????

Maybe Shaolin Rivero

Boku is good but no so Good than Hansen. Go Hansen :)

yeh, what happened to shaolin? Did JZ beat him into retirement?

Looks like someone will be given a free pass into the 2nd round...

Either a fight in the welterweight tournament 1st round or the loser of Aoki vs. JZ, is my guess.
