11/30 Shoot Boxing

There will be a Shoot Boxing event this Friday in Korakuen Hall. Shoot Boxing markets itself as standing Vale Tudo fighting, which means something like K-1 rules where throws and standing submissions are allowed.

The card for this Friday:

Kubochun Rena M15 (クボチューン・レーナ) vs. TBA
Tsukamoto Takuo vs. Kashiwakura Shinya

How often do matches end in submissions? Are there alot of throws also? I have had very limited exposure to shootboxing and it seemed like regular kickboxing.

Hi,

I have to say that matches rarely end in submissions. But it does happen, I have seen choke submissions used. Throws would be an essential part of this, as they are valuable in scoring points.
